Mysore

Located at a distance of 143 from Bangalore. One can visit Mysore throughout the year. Places to visit in Mysore are Mysore palace, Brindavan garden, Mysore zoo, Somanathapura Temple, Chamundeshvari Temple, Shuka Vana, freedom fighter park, folklore museum, St. Philomena's Church, Rail museum, Jaganmohan palace and so on.  

 

 

Sri Rangapatna Fort

Situated at a distance of 124 km from Bangalore. Tourists are allowed to enter between 8:30 am to 5:30 pm inside the fort. There is no entry fee. The fort's architecture is based on Indo Islamic style. The fort's wall contains many marvelous paintings depicting the tipu sultan's history and the victory over the British.

 

Hassan

Located 187 kilometers from Bangalore, Hassan is considered the temple-architecture capital of Karnataka. Hassan is famous for Jain temples and the main attraction is the hassanamba temple. One can visit Hassan throughout the year. Some more places to visit in Hassan are Hoysala Temple at mosale, Shettyhalli church, maharaja park, bisle ghat & forest reserve.


 

Lepakshi

Lepakshi is located at a distance of 123 kilometers from Bangalore. The place is famous for the three prime shrines dedicated to lord Shiva, Vishnu, and Virabhadra, which offer a perfect knowledge of history and mind-blowing architectural designs. The lepakshi temple is also stunning and well known for its hanging pillars. September to February is considered the best month to visit Lipakshi. 

 

Bheemeshwari

Located at a distance of 120 kilometers from Bangalore on the banks of river Kaveri, Bheemeshwari offers an amazing gateway for nature lovers. This place has diverse fishing camps like Mekedatu, Cauvery fishing camp, Galibore fishing camp, Sangam, and kokrebellur pelicanry. The Bheemeshwari wildlife sanctuary offers picturesque views and the chance to witness exotic wildlife like crocodiles, wild bears, leopards, jackals, and deer. One can also enjoy adventure activities like trekking and boat riding. 


 

Anthargange

About 70 kilometers from Bangalore, Anthargange is situated at an altitude of 1712 meters from sea level with small caves and dense forest. The literal meaning of Anthargange is 'inner stream' or 'Ganges from the deep' in Kannada. The origin of the river's stream is still a mystery to the world. Unfortunately, there's no bus service available in Anthargange, One can reach there by taxis which are easily available from Bangalore. October to March is considered the best month to visit Anthargange. 


 

Nandi hills

Nandi Hills is situated around 60 kilometers away from Bangalore. This place features amazing carved arches and majestic pillars, scattered with shrines and monuments. Places to visit in Nandi Hills are Tipu's drop, Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple, Tipu's summer residence, Amrit Sarovar, Brahmashram, Yoga Nandeeshwara Temple, and one can also enjoy the amazing adventure of paragliding and cycling in the Nandi Hills. 


 

Kanakpura

Kanakpura is located 55 kilometers away south of Banglore, situated on the Banks of river Arkavathi. It is 27 kilometers away from Ramnagaram and 96 kilometers from Mysore. Places to visit in Kanakpura are the Bannerghatta national park, the kodihalli wildlife range and harohalli wildlife range, and the Kaveri wildlife sanctuary. 


 

Ramanagaram

This place is approx 50 kilometers southwest of Bangalore. Ramnagar is famous for its high-quality silk production.  One can see tall granite hills all around which are also known as Sholay Hills. Favorite places for rock climbing are Savandurga (31 kilometers from Ramnagaram), Ramadevarabetta (located within the city), and Sri Revana Siddeshwara ( 15.1 kilometers from Ramnagar). And my favorite climbs are the Wanakkal wall, Rainbow wall, and Anna-Thamma. 

 

Bidadi

Bidadi is located 32 kilometers from Bangalore toward Mysore. The town is connected by both rail and bus to Bengaluru city. 

The main attraction in Bidadi is Wonder la, innovative film City and Eagleton golf resort, CSK stays inn, and Sarojamma Chikkatimahaiah Kalyana Mandapa. One can also visit Nelligida lake for a common hangout, this place is considered a favorite spot among residents. One can have 'Thatte Idli' the famous traditional south Indian food dish.
