Spread over 15 kilometers dal lake is the second largest lake in Jammu and Kashmir. The houseboats and shikaras are the major attraction of Dal Lake.

Shankaracharya Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located on the top of Shankaracharya hill is one of the oldest shrines in Kashmir. Shankaracharya Temple is also locally known as Jyesteshwara Temple. One needs to take a flight of 243 steps made up of stones to visit the temple. The top view of the temple offers you great sightseeing of the valley as well as Dal Lake below. 2-3 hours are enough to explore the temple and surroundings. Cars are not allowed after 5:00 pm. People visit the temple between 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. 

 

One can visit the famous Indira Gandhi memorial tulip garden which is the largest tulip garden in Asia, located in the foothills of the Zabarwan mountain range in Srinagar. 

You can get to see 45 varieties of tulips as well as roses, daffodils, iris, etc. The garden's major attraction is the tulip festival which is organized by the government of Jammu and Kashmir during the spring season between March and May. Approx 1 to 2 hours are required to explore the beauty of the tulip Garden. Tourists are allowed to visit the garden between 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. an entry fee of INR 50 is charged for adults and INR 25 for children.
