Located at a distance of 15 kilometers, Guru Shikhar is the highest peak of Rajasthan at an altitude of 5676 feet. The famous temple of Lord Vishnu, Dattatreya is situated on the peak of Guru Shikhar. You will get to see the footprint of Swami Ramanathan, who placed the statue in the Raghnathji temple in Abu. 

 

Locally known as Nakki Jheel, located in the Aravalli ranges of Mount Abu, Nakki Lake is the perfect destination for nature lovers. One should visit this man-made Lake whose depths are around 11,000 meters and enjoy the boat ride which will cost INR 50 to INR 100 per person. You can visit there between 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. The lake is located on Ganesh Road, near the main market of Mount Abu.

 

Near the South of Nakki Lake, Toad Rock is situated. Toad Rock is a colossal rock piece that looks like a toad going to jump into the lake. You have to take approx. 250 steps to visit Toad Rock. The pathway is full of greenery and fresh surrounding. The stairs are broken from some point so it is advised for old people to not take this way. There are no charges for visiting Toad Rock. 6:30 AM - 6:45 PM is the best time to catch sunrise and sunset. 

 

One of the finest Jain temples in the world known for its incredible design and smooth radiant marble stone carvings, Dilwara Jain Temple is located in the middle of verdant Aravalli hills. The temple is not less than a palace. It consists of five beguiling temples namely - Vimal Vasahi, Luna Vasahi, Pittalhar, Parashavanatha, and Mahavir Swami Temple.

 

One can also visit Mount Abu wildlife sanctuary which is free. But there will be a charge if you want to take a tour of the sanctuary by Jeep Safari. Charges of Jeep Safari start from INR 3000. The sanctuary is spread across a distance of 288 km, you can find 81 species of trees, 89 species of shrubs, 17 species of tuberous plants, and 28 species of climbers in the sanctuary. Animals like a jungle cat, small Indian civet, hyena, jackal, common mongoose, Indian hare, hedgehog, and Indian fox live in the sanctuary. You can also witness more than 250 species of birds. 3 to 4 hours are enough to explore the entire sanctuary. Tourists are allowed to visit from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. It is advised not to feed any animal, which can affect their diet. 

 

From Delhi, it takes approx. 13-14 hours to reach Mount Abu by road, which is 760.9 Kilometers via NH 48 and Beawar - Pindwara Road. 

The fastest way to reach Mount Abu from New Delhi is the flight from New Delhi to Mount Abu but there is no direct flight between these two destinations. There are 11 flights available from Delhi to Mount Abu. 

One can take a train trip from New Delhi to Abu Road Railway Station. 

 

Mount Abu welcomes winter from November to February. The temperature during these months varies between 16° Celsius and 22° Celsius. The highest temperature during the day reaches 27° Celsius. During the night the temperature goes as low as 10° Celsius. Cool-weather offers perfect sightseeing in Mount Abu. One can enjoy the annual festival in December. In winter Mount Abu witnesses a heavy crowd which creates a shortage of accommodation facilities, so it is advised to book your hotel or lodge in advance. 

 

Mount Abu witnesses a heavy summer from March to June. During summers the temperature ranges from 31° Celsius to 36° Celsius. There is relaxation at night, and the temperature goes to 28° Celsius. There is a chance of rain during summer in Mount Abu. During summer evenings, it is best for outdoor exploration.

 

Mount Abu witnesses Monsoon from July to October. The temperature during these months stays between 28° Celsius to 34° Celsius. The temperature rarely goes below 28° Celsius.
